The Walnut Tree Inn
The Walnut Tree Inn, near Abergavenny, remains a restaurant destination. Its official visitor page lists lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, with menus and table booking. The restaurant is in Llanddewi Skirrid, outside Abergavenny.
The Fenwick
The Fenwick Arms in Claughton now trades as The Fenwick, with rooms as well as dining. Its official site describes breakfast and dinner for residents and their extended parties, with Sunday lunch open to all diners. For a meal without an overnight stay, look first at the Sunday lunch service.
Silversmiths in Sheffield
The Runaway Girl was relaunched as Silversmiths. The Silversmiths site lists modern British menus and booking at 111 Arundel Street in Sheffield. This is the name to search for when looking up the restaurant, rather than its old tapas-bar identity.
The Glass House site: The Flying Fleece
The premises once used by The Glass House in Ambleside now house The Flying Fleece. CAMRA's pub entry lists Glasshouse Restaurant and Fulling Mill among its previous names at Rydal Road, LA22 9AN.
The Flying Fleece website has pub menus and booking information. The pub occupies a restored mill beside Stock Gill, with a terrace overlooking the water. It is the current name to use when planning a visit to the former Glass House location.
The familiar restaurants that closed
Momma Cherri's Soul Food Shack in Brighton closed in 2009. Other closed venues include Bonaparte's in Silsden, La Lanterna in Letchworth and La Gondola in Derby.
