Verification guide
Behind every
status, a source.
How we check what happened after the show.
Real businesses.
Real evidence.
Real answers.
Same shows.
Different outcomes.
What each status means
We use six clear status labels to show what happened after the cameras left.
Still trading under its original name.
The business is still trading today under the name it used on the show, or a lightly restyled version of it.
Permanently shut.
The business has shut for good. Where we can, we record the year and what took over the space.
Trading under a different name.
The business survived but now trades under a different name, usually after new ownership.
Moved and reopened.
The business moved from its original address and reopened somewhere else.
Ownership changed.
A sale does not automatically establish that the business is open.
Not enough reliable evidence.
We could not find a reliable current signal either way. We would rather say so than guess.
How we verify
We use a consistent process to find and check the latest information.
- 01
Start with the business
We look for the official website, current location details, menus, booking pages and contact information.
- 02
Cross-check independent evidence
We compare multiple reliable sources, including news articles, social media and local records.
- 03
Record confidence and check date
We show how strong the evidence is and note when it was last checked.
- 04
Update when evidence changes
We update the status and check date when we confirm new and reliable information.
Sources we use
We check multiple independent sources, including:

Official websites and booking pages
Menus, reservations, opening hours and contact details.

Recent official social activity
Posts from the business’s official social media accounts.

Local reporting
Recent news articles and media coverage from trusted sources.

Public records
Business registrations, licensing records and other official documents where available.
Other fan trackers are not verification.
If a claim traces back only to a rescue-show aggregator, it does not meet our bar, and the listing stays unverified until we find a real source.
Confidence matters
We show a confidence level based on the strength of the evidence.
Multiple reliable sources confirm the status.
Some evidence, but not fully confirmed.
Limited or conflicting evidence.
