Moondoggy's Pizza

Brunswick, Ga

SOLD

Ownership changed when the business sold in 2022.

The short answer

Mashed.com: a Facebook post indicated the business "were transitioning to new owners during the last week of November 2022," roughly six months after the May 2022 episode aired, despite the restaurant reportedly performing 260% better post-makeover.

What happened on the show

Two best friends who had no idea how to run a restaurant were watching their friendship and their pizzeria collapse together. Renesha and Brandy owned Moondoggy's Pizza in Brunswick, Georgia, where Renesha felt disrespected by staff and customers and Brandy's failure to lead sank them deeper into debt, so Irvine had to teach them the basics of the business and how to build a better culture at once. He tasted the pizza, read the operation, and let his team remake the room ahead of a fresh service, the whole thing riding on whether two friends could keep working together. Since the teaser centers on the friendship under strain and the debt, not the plates, what remains is a pizzeria whose survival was tangled up with a partnership.

After the cameras left

Moondoggy's changed hands not long after the rescue. Per Mashed.com, a Facebook post indicated the business was transitioning to new owners during the last week of November 2022, roughly six months after the May 2022 episode, even though the restaurant reportedly performed 260 percent better after the makeover. The new ownership was not identified. We record it as sold as of November 2022 at medium confidence.
