What happened on the show
Amy's Baking Company is the only restaurant Gordon Ramsay ever quit on. Amy and Samy Bouzaglo, a husband and wife who had sunk over a million dollars into Amy's dream in Scottsdale, greeted him certain he would validate them against the online haters they had feuded with for two years. At first their plan almost worked: Ramsay admired the spotless dining room and clean kitchen, and genuinely praised a slice of Amy's cake. Then the cracks showed. Amy dismissed every Yelp review as a lie, called their cats three little boys stuck in cat bodies, and admitted they closed the restaurant whenever they felt like it. Samy, who pocketed the servers' tips, ran the front like a bouncer, ordering unhappy diners out and physically threatening a couple who had waited over an hour for a single pizza. With Amy cooking one ticket at a time and both owners refusing to hear a word of criticism, Ramsay did something he had never done before and walked away.
