Colorado Cork & Keg
Castle Rock, Colorado
This one did not make it. The business closed in 2024. The site is now home to Valerie's Brewhouse.
The short answer
Conflicting evidence on closure timing between independent sources.
What happened on the show
An owner had moved his family to chase his lifelong dream of opening a bar, only to leave his wife doing all the work. At Colorado Cork and Keg in Castle Rock, Taffer confronted a man whose dream had become his wife's burden, the imbalance straining both the business and the marriage. The rescue worked to get the owner to shoulder his share and run the bar he had uprooted his family to open. Taffer reopened the venue as Valerie's Brewhouse, a rebrand that pointedly put the wife's name over the door, betting that an owner forced to pull his weight, paired with a clearer concept, could steady a room his one-sided approach had been dragging down, with the usual test of whether the changes would hold.
After the cameras left
Colorado Cork and Keg, rebranded Valerie's Brewhouse, has an uncertain fate. MapQuest and a closure-tracking directory both list the 971 Park Street venue as closed, but a December 2025 blog called it a rare Bar Rescue success story still operating into early 2026, a genuine conflict between independent sources. Leaning on the explicit MapQuest closed tag, the room is recorded as closed, but with the blog's contrary claim unresolved, confidence is kept low, the closure timing left uncertain across the 2024 to 2026 window.
